Its almost time to go out for a prom night with purpose. Join Seeds of Literacy on May 16, 2026, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, at The Lantern Room for an unforgettable evening filled with second chances, school dance nostalgia, and the power of adult education. Prom Royalty Stephanie Haney & Mike Polk, Jr. and all guests will enjoy music, dancing, photo opportunities, refreshments, raffle prizes, and plenty of prom-themed surprises, all while supporting free education for adult learners. Come dressed to impress and help us crown the night’s impact by raising funds that open doors to brighter futures for Seeds students. Tickets include valet parking, two drink tickets, and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Let’s make this a night to remember and a future full of possibility.

To celebrate the end of Tutor Appreciation Week, we hosted our volunteers at the HISTORIC League Park and Baseball Heritage Museum. After we honored Lynne Rumsey and Diane Lekan as our "Tutors of the Year" at the Hough Library, our group was treated to a tour of the birthplace of Cleveland baseball. A huge thank you to Hathaway Brown School & specifically the HB Class of '26 for hosting Seeds as this year's community partner for Carnival 2026!! Organized by the Class of 2026, this event started off with a 5K, run by Seeds very own Virtual Coordinator Anne. The rest of the morning was filled with raffles and games for all ages including DIY tote bags and a flying donut race, where Volunteer Coordinator Bryce emerged victorious versus Development Director Todd. 2012 Seeds Graduate, Maria Rodriguez, joined Dr. Daprano at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine for their annual seminar sharing the importance of health literacy with over 200 first year students. Maria shares her story as a real life example to motivate these doctors of tomorrow to make sure they take into account that their patients may have challenges both reading and understanding a diagnosis.
