We're continuing to roll out support for battery permitting with our Storage Only permit type, and the excitement is palpable. Grateful to be partnering with the Solar Energy Industries Association on this work.
A big part of my role as a product manager on SolarAPP+ is staying close to the people who actually use it every day, the installers and jurisdictions filing and processing solar permits. So today was a really fun change of pace for me! I got to represent SolarAPP+ at the Solar Energy Industries Association's Energy Storage happy hour in DC, where I talked about our newest feature, Storage-Only permitting. The room was full of the wider network around our users, the people in policy, research, manufacturing, and more who all support and shape solar and energy storage even if they never actually touch permitting themselves. What really stuck with me is that permitting still resonated as one of the biggest barriers in the industry, and this time from people who don't file a single permit. It naturally comes up whenever I talk about what we’re building, but the way it landed across the whole room, and not just with our users, really drove home how central this problem is, and how much it matters that we keep chipping away at it. Getting to hear from the whole ecosystem and carry it back to the team is honestly one of my favorite parts of this role.
