Electricity demand is outpacing traditional energy infrastructure. Bringing new sources of generation online quickly has become one of the defining challenges facing the energy industry. Today, Solar Landscape announced the closing of a $125 million revolving credit facility led by M&T Bank, with participation from Flagstar Bank, Atlantic Union Bank, and Valley Bank. The oversubscribed facility expands our existing relationship with M&T Bank and strengthens the capital foundation that supports our growing development pipeline. By providing flexible working capital during project development, it helps accelerate the deployment of distributed energy infrastructure and supports our ability to bring more megawatts online faster in the markets that need power most. New research from JLL: contracted front-of-the-meter rooftop solar leases increase industrial asset values by approximately 4%, with the uplift fully attributable to contracted rooftop lease income.

State governments are realizing that distributed solar is the fastest path to new generation. New transmission and large-scale generation projects often require years to develop, while existing commercial rooftops represent immediately deployable infrastructure that can generate power closer to where it is needed. Maryland Governor Wes Moore just committed $43 million to 69 new distributed solar projects across the state. Solar Landscape will develop 21 of those projects in the Baltimore Gas and Electric and Pepco service territories, further expanding our footprint in Maryland. This investment demonstrates how distributed energy can help address two of today’s most pressing challenges at the same time: bringing new power online faster and delivering meaningful electricity savings to the communities that need them most.
