Nicor Gas unveiled MobileX Connect, a new mobile unit outreach channel, during a ribbon-cutting event at The Salvation Army Community Center in Aurora, Illinois. Bill payment assistance, energy resources and community agencies were directly available to customers, right in their community. The launch delivered immediate, measurable impact through onsite support and follow-up outreach, 191 customers received approximately $52,000 in bill payment assistance grants, including a new MobileX Connect grant. With support from 35 employee volunteers, 25 The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division and Community Contacts, Inc. agency partners, the event highlighted the power of collaboration in action. More than a one-day event, this launch represents a scalable and innovative way to removing barriers to serve our communities, expanding access to critical resources, strengthening partnerships and making a meaningful impact.
