"If I buy a $90 ticket and spend two innings waiting in line, I've devalued my experience by two-ninths." 📉 That powerful framing from Dr. Michael Cunningham of the Philadelphia Phillies, perfectly encapsulates the high stakes for modern stadium CIOs. In sports tech, bad technology is worse than no technology. Fans don't get a training period—they either adopt a new tech feature instantly because it provides convenience, or they abandon it forever. For my latest Stadium Tech Report article, I looked at how venues can move away from chasing novelty and start focusing on execution. We talk about: ✨ Shifting from "features" to "frictionless." ✨ Why fragmentation and siloed innovations are killing mass adoption ✨ Unifying the fan identity layer Thanks for the great discussion, Michael! Always a pleasure to chat with one of the great thought leaders in sports. If you want to check out one of the most "tech-ed out" stadiums in Major League Baseball (MLB), head to Citizens Bank Park. They'll also be hosting this year's MLB All-Star Game! I'll be there this year with Extreme Networks, hope to see you there! For years, stadiums measured what happened: transactions, attendance, throughput, and per caps. But as AI and operational analytics mature, venue operators are beginning to explore a more difficult challenge: understanding the behaviors that shape those outcomes in the first place. In a new editorial, WaitTime founder Zack K. examines a question venue operators may find themselves asking as operational data moves from dashboards toward decision-making: If a fan stands in line for food, waits several minutes, and walks away without buying, how much money did the venue lose? https://lnkd.in/g9z9hECh

AI is arriving in sports venues faster than most organizations are prepared to manage it. In this new op-ed for Stadium Tech Report, Donny White, CEO of Satisfi Labs argues that the real opportunity is not replacing people with AI. It is using AI to help venue organizations operate more effectively. The article challenges stadium owners to rethink how they evaluate AI in the first place. Instead of chasing tools, White suggests starting with the biggest operational and business problems the venue is trying to solve. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gCVUPYwC

The inflection point in venue Wi-Fi is not coming. It has already happened. In a new editorial for Stadium Tech Report, Matt Swartz argues that six gigahertz changed the fundamental capacity equation, upload behavior reshaped the traffic profile, and the wired network has become the variable that determines whether any of it delivers on its promise. The bottleneck did not disappear. It moved. Read the full article below. https://lnkd.in/g_kKHG82
