This Thanksgiving week, State of the Heart Recovery recognizes the life-changing work that Joy Junction continues to provide for Albuquerque residents who are experiencing hunger and homelessness. Joy Junction will host a full Thanksgiving meal with all the traditional fixings on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Meal service will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Community events like this are a powerful reminder that compassion is not seasonal. It is the foundation of a healthy city and a responsibility shared across all sectors. Those wishing to support the event with donations or additional assistance can contact Joy Junction at 505-217-9586 or visit www.joyjunction.org for more details.

State of the Heart Recovery is honored to support community partners who are stepping up to care for our unhoused neighbors this Thanksgiving. Grandma’s House Soul Food and T-Streetz will host a Thanksgiving Day meal at Dallas and Central in Albuquerque’s International District. The meal begins at 2:00 p.m. and is open to anyone in need of a warm plate and community connection. They are actively seeking volunteers and food donations including ham, cranberry sauce, water, sodas, napkins, forks, and spoons. Acts of service like these strengthen our community and reflect the compassion that guides our work every day. If you are able to volunteer or donate, your support will make a meaningful difference for many this holiday season.
