This week, we are so excited to spotlight our amazing HR Coordinator, Angel Lara, who supports not just one, two, or three regions, but every region across Step Forward ABA! Our Director of HR, Katie, shares:   “I have had the privilege of working alongside Angel for nearly two years, and throughout that time she has consistently shown up each day ready to tackle challenges, support others, and contribute wherever she is needed. No matter how full her workload may be, she is always willing to jump in and help, approaching every task with a positive attitude and a smile. As our HR Coordinator, Angel is often one of the very first people new hires interact with, making her the face of our organization for many employees. She has a unique ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and heard from day one. Whether someone is excited, frustrated, nervous, or simply looking for support, Angel has a natural gift for connecting with people and helping them feel appreciated. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Angel has continuously stepped outside of her comfort zone to take on new challenges and expand her skill set. Over the past year, she has taken ownership of developing policies and procedures, helping create consistency and structure across our organization. She has also played a key role in creating and implementing new employee processes from the ground up, demonstrating both creativity and a strong understanding of the employee experience. What stands out most about Angel is her willingness to help others, even when she already has a full plate. She has an incredible ability to make employees feel heard, respected, and appreciated, while also bringing a positive energy that is truly contagious. Her dedication to improving processes, learning new skills, and supporting those around her has made a lasting impact not only on our HR team, but across the entire organization. One of the most rewarding parts of being her supervisor has been watching her grow—not only into an exceptional HR professional, but also into an incredibly confident, capable, and compassionate person. She continually pushes herself to learn, embraces feedback, and rises to every challenge placed in front of her. Seeing her development over the past two years has been inspiring, and I couldn't be prouder of everything she has accomplished. Even as her supervisor, I have learned a great deal from Angel. Her commitment to growth, her dedication to our employees, and the care she brings to her work each day continue to impress me. Happy Wednesday! This is one of our clients celebrating his final session before graduating from his therapeutic program. As Step Forward ABA continues to expand across regions and states, it has become increasingly clear that strong clinical systems are just as important as strong clinicians.   We are proud to share that Payal Thakkar, M.S. BCBA has been promoted to Executive Director of Clinical Systems.   This role was created to support our continued growth by strengthening the foundation behind our clinical work. Payal will be focused on building and refining the systems that help ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across the organization.   When systems are clear and consistent, clinicians are better supported, leadership is more aligned, and families receive better care.   Payal brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, organization, and collaborative leadership. Since stepping into her role, Maggie has demonstrated incredible enthusiasm and initiative. Maggie is one of our student analysts and is always eager to learn more to support her team. Her supervisors have shared how much they love working with her, and Maggie consistently jumps in with a smile and provides valuable insights to other technicians and her supervisors. We are back with our Employee Spotlight with Ashlin King! "As the RED who works directly with Ashlin, I could spend a long-time listing all of the amazing things that she does to support our team in Vancouver. However, what I think speaks even more highly to the incredible work that Ashlin does is the feedback she receives from the BTs and supervisors in our region who are tremendously appreciative of the difference her hard work makes in supporting them and their clients: We are beyond lucky to have Ashlin on our team! Not only as a scheduler, but also as an office manager. She is constantly up to date and willing to learn anything to make our lives as BTs easier. She works so hard to find us hours and make sure that we are getting our needs met. Above and beyond is the best way to describe her. Ashlin is very communicative and lets me know when there's a change in schedule, especially when she sees I have program modification scheduled. I appreciate that she understands our clinical recommendations with regard to subs, schedule, and overlaps. With previous jobs, it has felt like I was always having to check my client's schedules to ensure that their staff were supposed to be working with them or that schedules weren't changed without my knowledge. I'm sure Ashlin has her own scheduling goals and responsibilities, but I've never felt like we weren't on the same page. It's been great having her here and has been so helpful. Ashlin is great at what she does! I’m so thankful for the work she does for us and I feel comfortable going to her with any concerns I may have! Ashlin is always kind and solution focused when navigating scheduling changes and obstacles. She is respectful of clinical perspectives in relation to scheduling and staffing. She consistently uses creative problem solving to maximize client and BT hours. Even when she has a lot on her plate, Ashlin continues to always remain positive and supportive to ensure that supervisors, BTs, and clients receive an incredibly high level of care and consideration. The clinical team in Vancouver would not be able to do all the amazing things they do if they did not have the dedicated and understanding support of Ashlin!"
