AI is becoming more helpful when it can connect with the tools you already trust. That's why we're excited to introduce the Claude Connector for TaxAct. The Connector brings Claude and TaxAct together to help deliver more relevant, personalized tax guidance without jumping between applications as people prepare their taxes .Without the Connector, an AI assistant can answer general tax preparation questions based on what it has learned. With it, Claude can use TaxAct’s knowledge base to provide guidance that's more relevant to your tax filing journey. That means less switching between apps, less searching for answers, and more support in the moments where questions naturally come up. Whether you're wondering about your tax filing status, preparing to file as a freelancer, or trying to understand your next step in preparing your taxes, connected AI has the potential to make the experience simpler and more intuitive. At TaxAct, we're focused on building AI experiences that help simplify complexity, reduce friction, and give people greater confidence as they navigate their tax filing journey. One of the most important points in Alice Curry's post is that transformation isn't about choosing between people and technology—it's about using each where they create the most value. At TaxAct, we're building AI into how we operate so our experts can spend more time doing what matters most: helping customers navigate complex tax decisions with confidence. The opportunity isn't to replace human expertise. It's to remove friction, streamline repetitive work, and give talented professionals more capacity to focus on the moments where their judgment makes the biggest difference. That's how we think about responsible AI: accelerating outcomes while keeping people at the center of the experience. Great perspective from Alice on what it takes to scale thoughtfully while staying true to what customers value most.
American Airlines. Match Group. Now Taxwell. Throughout my career across very different industries, I’ve learned that transformation usually comes down to the same fundamentals: ✔️ Put the right talent in place. ✔️ Align technology to customer value. ✔️ Build products that solve real problems. The most important lesson is that technology matters, but technology alone rarely creates transformation. We saw that lesson play out recently at Taxwell. Last October, we launched our Expert Full Service tax offering ahead of the extension deadline. We hired an exceptional team of credentialed tax professionals to support clients during the upcoming tax season. The product officially opened at the end of January. By February, demand grew exponentially faster than expected, which created an important operational question: How do we scale without losing the human expertise clients rely on? The challenge wasn't technology. The challenge was scale. We quickly evaluated where our tax experts were spending their time and identified the parts of the process where human expertise wasn't adding value. Then, in just three weeks, we rebuilt key workflows using AI-assisted tools (primarily Claude) to automate and streamline those steps. The goal was not fewer humans as we are already hiring many experts for next year. It was better use of human expertise. Instead, we helped our tax professionals spend less time on administrative work and more time where clients needed them most: • Answering complex questions • Running "what-if" scenarios • Helping clients make smarter tax decisions • Providing confidence during a stressful process AI became an accelerator. Our people remained the differentiator. The most successful transformations happen when technology amplifies human expertise rather than being a replacement. Technology alone isn't a strategy, but it expands what's possible. That's the approach I bring to Taxwell every day: keeping humans in the loop while using technology to help them deliver even more value to our customers.
