Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that mental health impacts all communities - including young men, who are often taught to suppress what they are feeling. Many young men face pressure to appear “strong,” independent, and emotionally in control. Over time, these expectations can make it harder to open up, ask for support, or even recognize when they are struggling. According to the CDC, men are less likely than women to seek mental health treatment, even though mental health challenges affect millions each year. At the same time, young adults continue to experience high rates of anxiety and depression, while many still avoid seeking support because of stigma, pressure, or fear of being judged. It’s important to recognize that for some, emotional struggles show up differently through isolation, anger, risky behavior, or substance use rather than openly asking for help. The impact of untreated mental health struggles can be serious. Suicide continues to disproportionately affect young men, reinforcing the need for stigma-free support and earlier conversations around mental health. Too often, support only comes after a breaking point is reached. Creating space for honest conversations and everyday mental health support can make a meaningful difference. This is where early interventions such as small daily habits and accessible tools can make a difference. Prosper gives young men a way to: ➡️ check in with how they’re feeling ➡️ reflect privately and in real time ➡️ build healthy coping habits over time Because mental health support should feel accessible, consistent, and stigma-free - not just something to turn to during a crisis. Supporting young men’s mental health helps build stronger individuals, healthier relationships, and more connected communities. #MHAM #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #TeenMentalHealth #Community #Breakthesilence #YoungMenandBoysInitiative Eric Sullivan, Alden Sullivan, Lindsay Flinn, Diana Bunghiuz, Vicki Lieng, Mike Burgin, Michael Barr, MD, MBA, MACP, FRCP, Nikki Ham, Marie Yeh, Gov. Proud to stand alongside the Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller and our partners to advance conversations around mental health and technology for our young people. As we navigate a rapidly evolving digital world, we have a responsibility to ensure young people have the tools, support, and spaces they need to thrive. The launch of Maryland’s Youth Digital Wellness Playbook marks a meaningful step forward—turning research into real, actionable strategies for youth, families and educators. 📢 May is Mental Health Awareness Month - a reminder that mental health shapes not just individuals, but entire communities. NAMI's 2026 Mental Health Awareness Month theme encourages all of us to turn silence into connection and community. On the first day of May, we’re focusing on a community that matters deeply: teens. Teens today face constant pressure that doesn’t stop at school. It continues through social media, expectations, and the feeling to keep up. In 2023, more than 5.3 million adolescents (ages 12-17) had a diagnosed mental or behavioral health condition. Social media amplifies these challenges, making comparison easier and disconnecting harder. Over time, this can impact confidence, sleep, and overall well-being. While challenges are constant, support isn’t always available in the moments it’s needed the most. That’s where simple, everyday tools can make a difference. Prosper gives teens a way to: 🌟 Check in with how they’re feeling 🌟 Reflect in real time 🌟 Build small, sustainable mental health habits Because when teens have access to support in their daily lives and not just in crisis, it can make a meaningful difference. Taking action early helps build stronger, healthier communities for the future. #MHAM #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #TeenMentalHealth #Community #Breakthesilence Eric Sullivan, Alden Sullivan, Lindsay Flinn, Diana Bunghiuz, Vicki Lieng, Nikki Ham, Mike Burgin, Michael Barr, MD, MBA, MACP, FRCP, Marie Yeh

The next phase of rural health transformation is here, and it’s a pivotal moment for states, providers, and communities alike. With historic federal investment driving change, the real challenge is turning that investment into measurable, lasting outcomes for rural populations. Across the country, organizations are being asked to rethink infrastructure, strengthen partnerships, and scale what’s already working. In our latest blog, we break down: • What this next phase means for rural healthcare delivery • The biggest opportunities (and risks) ahead • How organizations can prepare to succeed in a more outcomes-driven landscape If you’re thinking about how to navigate this shift or how to make a meaningful impact in rural communities, this is a must-read! https://lnkd.in/ekPYHDKu #RuralHealth #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #ValueBasedCare #DigitalHealth #PublicHealth Eric Sullivan, Alden Sullivan, Valery Rincon, Lindsay Flinn, Diana Bunghiuz, Michael Barr, MD, MBA, MACP, FRCP, Mike Burgin, Marie Yeh, Nikki Ham

We’re excited to share that Uneo Health is headed to NatCon 2026 next week! Behavioral health is at a turning point, and there’s no better place to be than surrounded by the people who are shaping what comes next. From bold ideas to real-world solutions, we’re looking forward to the conversations that move this space forward. At Uneo Health, we’re especially passionate about what happens between visits, because that’s where lasting progress is built. If you’re thinking about new ways to better support your clients outside the traditional care model, we’d love to connect. 📍 Denver | April 27–29 If you’ll be there, we'd love to talk about how Prosper can help extend care beyond sessions and drive better outcomes. Interested in connecting? Reach out to Eric Sullivan! National Council for Mental Wellbeing

Students today are navigating more than just academics. They’re managing social pressure, stress, and the feeling that they always need to do more. Recent data shows that 53% of teenagers feel obligated to be exceptional and highly accomplished (Bouchrika, 2026). At the same time, 1 in 5 students report being bullied, highlighting the growing pressures students face today. Research shows that the result of bullying is higher levels of anxiety, depression, and emotional stress. We’re seeing this firsthand in our data. Students using Prosper frequently report feeling stressed and overwhelmed, and many struggle with emotions and daily pressure. 🌟 Recent impact surveys have shown that after engaging with the Prosper platform: 89% feel more aware of their wellness needs and habits 74% feel more aware of their emotions or mental health 84% say that Prosper helps them handle tough situations These insights reinforce a critical point: students need accessible, consistent ways to check in on themselves and reflect. Supporting students starts with understanding their reality and equipping them with simple tools that fit into their daily lives. Yesterday, our CTO (Alden Sullivan) and I had the opportunity to join community, nonprofit, and state leaders at the Maryland State Capital to help shape the early direction of Gov. Wes Moore's Young Men and Boys Initiative, led by Vincent Harrington. Why is this a critical conversation to have? 💠 This an important Maryland and national mental health concen are nearly 4 times more likely to die by suicide then young women (afsp.org). 💠 Like many states, Maryland is seeing less and less young men enter the education and (mental) health workforce - in fact, male educators make up only 23% of the state's teacher workforce. Building a diverse coalition of community and government leaders and DOERS together to think through innovative approaches to solve for these concerns in a lasting way is so important. As this effort launches in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, we’re proud that Uneo Health's Prosper program is already supporting more than 2,500 young men in Prince George's county on their mental wellness journeys—helping them build self-care habits and connect to critical resources. In fact, nearly 90% of teens using the Prosper platform report a positive impact on their mental wellness and over 75% report that it has helped them stay on track with their school work and attendance. We were excited to both share our experiences and learn from others committed to making this initiative a sustainable and impactful success. Importantly, we’re excited about the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to this important work across Maryland.
