VAST Data is the AI Operating System company – powering the next generation of intelligent systems with a unified software infrastructure stack that was purpose-built to unlock the full potential of AI. The VAST AI OS consolidates foundational data and compute services and agentic execution into one scalable platform, enabling organizations to deploy and facilitate communication between AI agents, reason over real-time data, and automate complex workflows at global scale. Built on VAST’s breakthrough DASE architecture – the world’s first true parallel distributed system architecture that eliminates tradeoffs between performance, scale, simplicity, and resilience – VAST has transformed its modern infrastructure into a global fabric for reasoning AI.

AI isn’t just changing what enterprises compute, it’s changing how they view decades of collected data. The real winners in the AI era won't necessarily be the ones with the biggest GPU clusters—they'll be the organizations that actually know where their data lives, how to secure it, and how to make it useful. In today's episode of Shared Everything, Howard Marks and Nicole Hemsoth Prickett explore the infrastructure realities of the AI era. Swipe through the main takeaways and listen to the full episode below 🚀

The paradigm for high-performance research computing has flipped. Byoung-Do (BD) Kim, Associate Chief Research Information Officer at University of Southern California - CARC, shares how an overwhelming influx of genomics and AI data forced a fundamental shift in how they manage infrastructure: Watch the full video to see how USC CARC deployed a 10-petabyte VAST system to eliminate operational complexity and bring computation directly to their datasets.

VAST Data says its software makes flash so efficient that it's now "cheaper than free." 📉 During #theCUBE’s coverage from “Beyond the GPU”, our host John Furrier sat down with a panel of tech experts, including Ben Lee, Director, Solution Management at Supermicro, Penny Tseng, Product Marketing Development at AMD, & John Mao, Global Head of Business Development at VAST Data, to discuss how VAST Data beats the NAND supply crunch by using patented similarity data reduction and unique erasure coding to slash raw flash needs by 50 to 100%. “There is definitely a supply chain issue right now when it comes to NAND. We have an example of a customer where our solution ended up being ‘cheaper than free.’ Because of the increased price of NAND, a lot of the innovation that VAST brings is within our software. When you think about how we handle data protection with our unique erasure coding algorithms or how we do our own patented similarity data reduction, the net benefit is that you just need less raw NAND to hit whatever type of logical capacities needed for customer workloads,” Mao shared. “In a non-supply chain tight situation, that's nice to have. But now when you see this huge hockey stick price increase in NAND flash, every single if we're talking about being able to save 50%, 100% in terms of using software to do data reduction, the gains on the hardware cost savings alone for SSDs is massive. It pays for the software. It's why we say it's cheaper than free. Those are some of the innovations we've been building on,” he added. 💡 Get more insights! https://lnkd.in/dckvTMXc #Flash #NAND #DataReduction #GPU #EnterpriseAI

This one is meaningful for any industry in the vision playground. VAST Data's AI OS is breaking all the boundaries when it comes to City-Scale video reasoning and action. This NVIDIA Developer blog exploring how to integrate context-aware video AI agents directly into enterprise workflows we built for our customers. By backing NVIDIA's NemoClaw, VSS, and RAG blueprints with a unified VAST data foundation, we showed how to take video analysis from minutes down to seconds at scale. It was great working with AMD towards Advancing AI event. These results have significant results for agentic workflows, especially as we are moving forward to longer context length and the pressure on HBM memory will continue to increase. Read our blog below to learn how we achieved these speedups on the MI355x AMD GPUs and VAST Data AI OS. Eyal Rif, Calvin Nieh, Sergey Blagodurov, Stephen Bates, Juergen Frick Thanks for your collaboration!

Confession: I'm a hardware geek at heart. Which is why I've had a lot of fun watching hardware make a "comeback" these last few years all thanks to AI. The reality, however, is that enterprises don't buy components – be it a processor, an accelerator, or a network adapter – simply for the novelty of new hardware. Enterprises are looking for solutions that solve real problems. At AMD's #AdvancingAI2026, I got to sit down with Derek Dicker to chat about how they see the enterprise AI market evolving, their growing portfolio of technologies to address everything from AI inferencing to compute-heavy data processing, and of course the expanding collaboration with VAST Data. Here's a sneak peak! Stay tuned for the full recording coming soon!
