Northwest Arkansas' rapid growth in the construction industry continues to create unique opportunities. Thanks to the generosity of Sam and Janet Alley of VCC Construction, a $2 million gift helped establish the University of Arkansas Master of Science in Construction Management program. As I've worked through my master's, I've realized one of the most valuable parts of undergrad wasn't just what I learned in the classroom. It was the friendships built through late nights studying together at Mullins Library that made the experience so memorable. With that in mind, Professor Micah Hale and I are hosting a dinner at the Inn At Carnall Hall next month for students in the online program. Classmates from across the country will be visiting Fayetteville, and for many of them, stepping onto the University campus for the first time. It's a privilege to share a place that has meant so much to me and many others, while finally meeting classmates I've spent countless hours learning alongside from hundreds of miles away 🥂 https://lnkd.in/ghCRp9pm

Celebrating another milestone! Our team recently topped out Kindred Affordable Apartments in San Diego, completing framing on the eight-story building. Once complete, the 138,000 SF development will provide 126 affordable housing units, community spaces, resident services offices, outdoor courtyards, parking, and 4,400 SF of commercial space. Thank you to our client, BRIDGE Housing Corporation, our trade partners, and the entire project team for their hard work and collaboration in reaching this milestone. We're excited to keep the momentum going.

For two and a half centuries, this country has been built by people with vision, courage, hard work, sacrifice, and belief in something bigger than themselves. Those same values are deeply connected to who we are at VCC. Every day, our teams help build America one project at a time. From communities and workplaces to places of entertainment, commerce, housing, healthcare, education, and public gathering, the work we do helps shape the towns and cities where people live, work, and come together. At VCC, we talk often about our core philosophies: doing the right thing, taking care of people, honoring our commitments, building lasting relationships, and delivering work we can be proud of. Those principles are not just business values—they are American values. They reflect the spirit of responsibility, opportunity, service, and teamwork that has helped make this country great. I am incredibly proud of our company, our people, and the role we play in building the future of this country. Whether you are in the field, in the office, traveling between projects, leading teams, supporting clients, or solving challenges behind the scenes, your work matters. You are part of something bigger than any single project. As we celebrate with family, friends, and loved ones, I hope we all take a moment to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy, the people who have defended them, and the opportunity we have to contribute to the continued growth of this great country.
As we celebrate Independence Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of those who fought for our nation's freedom—and those who continue to protect it today. At VCC, we're proud to help build the places where our communities live, work, learn, and gather. We wish our employees, clients, trade partners, and friends a safe and happy Fourth of July. Happy Independence Day from all of us at VCC!

As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary this weekend, we're proud to have helped shape the Washington, D.C., region through projects like Cortland Oakwood Arlington, the Cortland Pentagon City renovations, and the expansion and renovation of Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. If you're in the nation's capital for the festivities, stop by Fashion Centre at Pentagon City to cool off from the summer heat while enjoying one of the area's premier shopping destinations.

Proud to showcase our recently completed 130,000 SF Dick's House of Sport at The Parks Mall at Arlington! Transforming a former two-story Sears into this interactive retail destination came with its share of challenges—from extensive structural modifications and airlifted rooftop units to navigating limited second-floor access. Thanks to the dedication of our VCC project team, trade partners, and the DICK'S Sporting Goods team, we delivered the project on time. The finished space features an outdoor field, batting cages, a rock wall, and more, creating an exciting experience for athletes and shoppers alike.
