Last week, we were excited to be part of the NATIONAL TRAINING & SIMULATION ASSOCIATION Capitol Hill Modeling & Simulation Expo! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the VirTra table and contributed to the conversations around mission readiness, immersive training, and the vital role modeling and simulation plays in helping prepare personnel for real-world challenges. We were especially honored to welcome Congressman John Rutherford (FL-05), Co-Chair of the Congressional Modeling & Simulation Caucus, to the VirTra table. It was also a pleasure to see fellow Caucus Co-Chairs Congressman Jack Bergman (MI-01) and Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) at the event, and we appreciate their continued support of the modeling and simulation community. Thank you to the National Training & Simulation Association for hosting this outstanding event. We're grateful for the opportunity to showcase how VirTra's solutions support realistic, effective training for complex operational environments.

Today we recognize #Juneteenth and its significance in American history. We appreciate the work of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in preserving and sharing the stories that help us learn from our past and better understand our nation’s history. We encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, reflect, and honor the meaning of this day.
#OnThisDay in 1865, General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to read Order No. 3, which affirmed the end of slavery in the states of the former Confederacy. This momentous occasion became known as #Juneteenth, a combination of "June" and "19th." Though President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, issued on January 1st, 1863, freed all enslaved people in the Confederacy, its announcement and enforcement relied upon the presence of Union troops, including members of the United States Colored Troops. While some were aware of the implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation, it was not enforced until the Union Army arrived in Galveston on June 19th, 1865. Today, annual Juneteenth celebrations include family reunions, religious sermons, barbecues and much more. Learn more: https://s.si.edu/40a7yVG 📸 1. Emancipation Day Celebration, June 19, 1900.
