YWCA NCW has been awarded more than $2.5 million to support its newly proposed Housing Stability Project, an 18-unit homeless housing facility in Wenatchee. This Critical Housing Needs Project will provide safe, stable, and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families across North Central Washington. This award continues to build on previous funding leveraged through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. Together, member financial institutions and local housing providers are creating lasting solutions that strengthen communities and expand access to housing for those who need it most. Washington Trust Bank was proud to donate $10,000 to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery! Founded in 1987 in memory of Vanessa Behan, this grass-roots organization has served over 145,000 children in the Spokane community. They provide an immediate safe space for children and strengthening families through 24-hour childcare for infants and thirteen years old or younger, offering education and crisis counseling for parents, and referrals to other agencies in the community. Vanessa Behan serves parents who are having a difficult time providing safe shelter and care for their children and we are honored to continue to support their mission and vision.
