  • When you hire a general contractor, do you know who else is showing up to build your project? At Wendler, our subcontractors are pre-vetted for quality, safety, and trade strength. They're matched to scopes based on local expertise and evaluated on long-term performance, not just the lowest number on a bid sheet. Learn more about our team: https://bit.ly/48xBmQy

  • Iowa is one of the top wind energy producers in the country. That power doesn't reach homes and businesses by accident. It requires infrastructure built to handle some of the highest voltage levels in the grid. Wendler has delivered high-voltage substation work for Iowa's energy sector, including the Eastern Iowa Wind Farm Substation, a 345kV EPC project that connected a new wind farm to the regional transmission grid. Our scope covered deep foundations, civil construction, site grounding, and full EPC coordination from engineering through energization. The infrastructure behind Iowa's renewable energy growth is complex, technically demanding, and critical to the state's future. See the full project: https://bit.ly/4eslylq

  • Before you award your next civil infrastructure project, here are six things worth evaluating beyond the bid number: 1. How does this contractor control schedule and coordinate agencies? 2. How do they integrate risk into planning and GMP negotiations? 3. Can they adapt procurement sequencing when markets shift? 4. What does their QA/QC process look like before a problem surfaces? 5. Do they self-perform, or are they dependent on subcontractors? 6. Do they have proven CMAR or EPC experience? Wendler's free guide walks through all six in detail. It's designed for decision-makers who want confidence before they commit. Download it free: https://bit.ly/4vdHVQC

  • The best safety culture doesn't come from a policy manual. It comes from the people on the job site. Clint Hulbert, General Superintendent at Wendler, puts it simply: "Safety comes first because it makes the job productive." No compromise. That mindset, held by the people actually running our crews and managing our sites, is what makes Wendler's safety program more than a checklist. It's how we operate every day. • The best infrastructure projects don't build themselves. They're built by people who show up, work hard, and take pride in what they leave behind. At Wendler, we're building a team as strong as the infrastructure we construct. If you have experience in civil construction, electrical work, or skilled trades and you're looking for a company that takes the work seriously, we want to talk. Competitive pay. Real projects. A team worth being part of. Join our team: https://bit.ly/4eaaAkO

  • When a renewable energy developer needed to connect a new Iowa wind farm to the regional transmission grid, they needed more than a contractor. They needed a partner who could manage engineering, procurement, and construction simultaneously without losing a day. That's what Wendler delivered. The Eastern Iowa Wind Farm Substation project involved the full EPC delivery of two 345kV collector and interconnect substations in Iowa County. Wendler self-performed below-grade utilities, deep shaft foundations, cast-in-place concrete, site grounding, grading, and fencing, while coordinating procurement and engineering in parallel to meet a fixed interconnection deadline. The completed $16.8 million facility collects power from the wind farm's turbines and connects it to the existing high-voltage transmission system, expanding renewable energy capacity in East Central Iowa.
