To help develop the next generation of skilled trades professionals, support the local community, and address the growing demand for qualified workers, Wolff Bros. Supply has partnered with the Medina County Career Center's (MCCC) work-based learning program, the Ken Cleveland Construction Academy, through the donation of approximately $150,000 in residential HVAC equipment and training resources. This generous donation directly supports MCCC’s HVAC programs (high school and adult), providing hands-on experience with the exact technology they will encounter in the field. The academy provides high school juniors and seniors, and adults in the evening, with foundational career-technical knowledge in construction trades, preparing them for immediate internships and off-site job placements. In the HVAC-specific pathway, attendees master the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas, propane, oil, and electric heating and cooling units for residential and light commercial use. The curriculum covers basic ductwork design and sheet metal fabrication, electrical circuit construction, mechanical maintenance and piping practices, safe refrigerant handling, and more. Upon graduation, attendees don't just leave with a diploma—they earn a suite of industry-recognized credentials (including OSHA 30-Hour, CPR/First Aid, EPA 608, and NCCER certifications), giving them a competitive advantage. Adult education attendees also receive their very own "tools of the trade" starter kit. Graduates fast-track into high-paying apprenticeships, injecting skilled technicians into the local workforce ahead of schedule.
