Project Spotlight: Santa Fe Community College As warmer summer months approach, reliable cooling plays an important role in maintaining a comfortable learning environment at Santa Fe Community College. Yearout is supporting campus upgrades through the replacement of Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes and the rebuilding of air handling units as part of a phased retrofit effort. The scope includes upgraded controls, Variable Frequency Drives, and retrofitted equipment designed to improve performance and extend system life. This phase has required close coordination across trades, with Yearout acting as the general contractor for electrical, controls, and testing and balancing. Crews have also navigated aging infrastructure, including non-operational shutoff valves, using line freezing techniques to keep work moving. Throughout the project, protecting occupied spaces remains a priority, with work areas secured daily and sensitive equipment safeguarded.
