Assistant Project Manager

The ideal Assistant Project Manager candidate will have a basic understanding of the technical skills and knowledge of the unique opportunities and challenges that arise in the high-end construction environment. They will also have the professionalism and care to engage in our critical relationships with our clients, partners and in-house team. This position will work closely with the site superintendent as part of the project management team throughout the build process.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Serve as secondary contact with owner, architect, designer and/or building officials
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the project schedule, and coordination of field sequencing
• Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers for project
• Work with Project Manager to ensure completeness and accuracy of scope in bid packages
• Coordinate the review and approval of shop drawings/samples for accuracy and consistency prior to release to client
• Work with Project Manager to ensure that all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, and changes are processed in time to guarantee project schedule is met
• Assist Project Manager in effectively resolving client grievances/concerns
• Work with finance to prepare monthly requisitions, and follow through to payment
• Establish and maintain all project files relating to the subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications and as built documents
• Closely tack project costs, and maintain detailed analysis of profitability

Essential skills/requirements:

• 4 + years’ experience in High-end residential construction management required
• Proficient level experience with computer operating systems, such as Microsoft Office and Excel
• Highly organized with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively
• Building experience in high end residential market a plus
• Proficient in understanding architectural drawings a plus
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial skills
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• High attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Bachelor’s degree is a must
