Construction Estimator

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Construction Estimator role located in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. The Construction Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements across a variety of commercial and specialized construction projects. Daily responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids, and developing accurate budgets and proposals. The role will collaborate closely with project managers, preconstruction teams, and clients to clarify scope, assess risks, and value engineer solutions that meet budget and schedule goals. The Construction Estimator will also maintain up-to-date cost data, support bid reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Strong core estimating capabilities, including Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs, with the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents accurately.
• Demonstrated Cost Management and Budgeting skills, including developing detailed cost breakdowns, analyzing variances, and supporting value engineering efforts.
• Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, trade partners, and clients, and to present estimate assumptions clearly.
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software, spreadsheets, and project management tools; proficiency in MS Excel and other construction technology is highly beneficial.
• Previous experience in commercial construction; familiarity with sectors such as historic renovations, labs, clean rooms, or industrial facilities is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area, manage multiple bids and deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail under time constraints.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
