Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager I or II to provide strategic and operational support to the Construction Management (CM) and Inspection teams to improve consistency, strengthen construction management practices, enhance staff development, and support continuous improvement of business processes and project delivery. The Consultant shall work collaboratively with Division Management, Section Heads, Unit Heads, Construction Managers, and Inspectors to evaluate existing workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with the implementation of standardized procedures, training initiatives, and best management practices.

The Consultant shall possess demonstrated experience in horizontal public works construction, including Greenbook, Caltrans construction practices, construction administration, inspection, contract management, and public agency project delivery.

This position is more Office-oriented than Field. The job starts onsite in downtown LA area with a later move to a hybrid schedule.

There is no relocation monies or per diem on this position. You MUST live in greater Los Angeles area.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years (CM I) or 10 years (CM II) of construction management experience managing horizontal infrastructure projects.
• Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
• Education background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Greenbook or Caltrans specifications.
