BBSI has partnered with a well-established general contractor that has been delivering quality construction projects throughout Southern California since 1984. Driven by continued growth and a strong pipeline of new projects, the company is seeking a self-sufficient Construction Project Manager to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and can confidently manage multiple subcontractors and projects.
Project Portfolio
The company specializes in:
Multifamily apartment communities—the majority of its portfolio
Ground-up construction
Commercial developments
Single-family residential projects
Projects typically valued between $20 million and $30 million
Project Territory: Greater Los Angeles (LA, OC, SB, Riverside and Ventura counties)
The company self-performs rough framing and manages subcontractors across the remaining trades.
Key Responsibilities
Manage ground-up multifamily and commercial projects from preconstruction through completion.
Coordinate multiple subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field teams simultaneously.
Maintain project schedules, budgets, contracts, and cost controls.
Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, quality, and schedule compliance.
Work closely with superintendents, estimators, owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
Lead project meetings and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
Identify potential scheduling, cost, and constructability issues before they affect the project.
Support procurement, subcontractor buyout, billing, forecasting, and project closeout.
Travel between project sites throughout the Greater Los Angeles area as needed.
Maintain company standards for safety, quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
Proven project management experience in multifamily construction.
Strong knowledge of ground-up construction processes and sequencing.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and competing priorities.
Self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
Solid organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Experience with Sage, Bluebeam, and/or Togal is highly desirable.
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
Ability to travel between projects throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
