We have an opportunity for a Designer to join our Manitowoc, WI team. You will support the design, development, and continuous improvement of ice-making equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in electro-mechanical or industrial design and a strong interest in product development within a manufacturing environment.
You Will
Assist in the design and development of electro-mechanical components and systems for commercial ice machines
Create and update 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
Support product improvements, cost reductions, and design optimization initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain
Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation of new products and features
Troubleshoot design issues and support root cause analysis activities
Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and bills of materials
Key Qualifications
Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or related experience in lieu of education within an engineering field
3-5 years of relevant experience
Exposure to electro-mechanical design principles or industrial product design
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, plastics, assembly, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Skills & Experience
Engineering Software Experience Preferred: SolidWorks, Creo, PDM systems
Experience with refrigeration systems (highly preferred but not required)
Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
Exposure to prototype builds, testing, and validation
ERP Software Experience, Preferred: Oracle, SAP
Shift/Position
6:00 - 3:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
Compensation
The hourly pay for this role is: $30.00/hr. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
