DMAero is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembly Technician to assemble electronic components, circuit boards, cables, and electro-mechanical assemblies from engineering drawings and work instructions. This position requires strong leadership, technical aptitude, customer engagement skills, and experience managing complex engineering efforts in a government contracting environment.
Essential Responsibilities
· Perform soldering and rework of through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components.
· Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and maintain ESD-safe work practices at all times.
· Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
· Perform visual inspections to ensure assemblies meet workmanship and quality standards.
· Identify and report nonconforming materials or assembly issues.
· Maintain accurate production documentation and manufacturing records.
· Assist with prototype builds and low-volume production.
· Support inventory organization and proper handling of electronic components.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
Required Qualifications
· 2+ years of electronics assembly experience (aerospace, defense, industrial, or similar preferred).
· Familiarity with ESD control procedures and ESD-safe workstations.
· Experience with basic soldering techniques and electronic assemblies.
· Ability to operate basic electronics test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes and other common test equipment.
· Ability to use basic measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and micrometers.
· Knowledge of basic hand tools and use of specialized tools such as torque wrenches.
· Ability to read assembly drawings and basic electrical schematics.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Good manual dexterity and ability to work with small electronic components.
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with cable and wire harness assembly.
· Experience working with ESD sensitive CCA and equipment.
· Experience using multimeters and other basic electronic test equipment.
· Experience in aerospace, military, or defense manufacturing.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
