As our group benefits division continues to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Group Insurance Administrator to join our team.
Position Summary
The Group Insurance Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of employer-sponsored insurance plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. This role serves as the primary operational contact for employer groups, coordinating enrollments and terminations, preparing renewal analyses, supporting compliance requirements, and advocating for clients throughout the plan year.

Key Responsibilities:
Renewal Management
Manage group renewals approximately 90 days in advance of effective dates.
Request renewal information from carriers and analyze plan changes.
Prepare renewal comparison spreadsheets and recommendations.
Schedule and conduct renewal meetings with employer decision-makers.
Present benefit changes to employees during annual enrollment meetings.
Process employee enrollments, waivers, and terminations.
Client Service & Advocacy
Respond to employer and employee questions regarding benefits, premiums, networks, invoices, and eligibility.
Research issues through carrier portals and escalate unresolved matters to carrier representatives.
Assist employees with claim-related questions and provider network verification.
Maintain proactive communication and ensure issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
Maintain accurate client and policy records.
Assist employers with understanding ERISA, COBRA, and other group insurance regulations.
Track renewal activity, carrier contacts, and account status updates.
Protect confidential employee and health information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
Previous experience in group health insurance, employee benefits, HR administration, or insurance account management preferred, but not required.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up consistently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PDF document management.
Comfortable learning and navigating online portals.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
New Mexico Health Insurance License (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
Experience with medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance products.
Familiarity with ERISA, COBRA, and employee benefits terminology.
