We are currently seeking a IT Business Systems Analyst. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder. Interviews will be via Microsoft Teams video. Candidates that can work hybrid in Lexington, KY are highly preferred. A hybrid and remote work schedule are both options for this position.
Overview:
Our client is seeking an IT Business Systems Analyst to evaluate business needs, document requirements, support the selection and implementation of technology solutions, and improve processes across IT-supported operations.
This role serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors. The IT Business Systems Analyst will ensure technology solutions meet user needs, improve workflow efficiency, comply with organizational standards, and support broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business and Technical Requirements
- Partner with business units to gather, analyze, validate, and document functional and technical requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to understand business needs, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Translate business requirements into clear specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for developers, system administrators, vendors, and other technical teams.
- Ensure requirements are complete, accurate, traceable, and aligned with project goals.
- Manage requirement changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Process Analysis and Improvement
- Map, assess, and document current-state and future-state business processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, automate workflows, and enhance system functionality.
- Conduct workflow analysis, gap assessments, root cause investigations, and data validation.
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, controls, and operational practices.
- Help stakeholders evaluate the business impact, risks, costs, and benefits of proposed changes.
Solution Evaluation and Project Support
- Assist in evaluating software, SaaS platforms, technology products, and vendor solutions.
- Support the development of business cases, solution comparisons, and technology recommendations.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Work with project teams to validate requirements and confirm that delivered solutions meet business and technical expectations.
- Support user acceptance testing, including test planning, test-case development, defect tracking, and results documentation.
- Assist with change management, user readiness, training, and solution adoption activities.
Documentation and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Develop and maintain process documentation, system diagrams, workflow maps, business requirements, user guides, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Communicate project requirements, risks, issues, decisions, and progress to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational policies, security requirements, technology standards, and strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve system and process issues.
- Promote consistent business analysis, documentation, and process improvement practices across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Professional certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis, Project Management Institute, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, COBIT, or a similar organization is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis, requirements gathering, process improvement, and software testing practices.
- Experience documenting functional requirements, technical requirements, user stories, workflows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical, process-modeling, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting software implementations, system enhancements, or technology transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Ability to evaluate complex information and develop practical, data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
