We are looking for a skilled Junior IT Administrator that enjoys making a real impact by solving technology issues, digging into server VM migrations, designing firewall rules that keep us safe and expanding your IT skill set. Whether it’s troubleshooting a tricky network issue, running network cable through an office space, or just love digging into the technical details behind the scenes. This fun fast paced role combines hands-on technical support with infrastructure responsibilities, providing end-users with responsive assistance while supporting the reliability and security of our IT environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain Windows servers (2012–2022), supporting roles like AD DS, DNS, DHCP, IIS
- Build, manage, and monitor virtual environments including VM creation, snapshots, templates, migrations
- Plan capacity, clustering, high-availability, and perform VM backups & DR exercises
- Configure, maintain, and update firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and host-based firewalls
- Implement layered security: endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, SIEM, MFA, network segmentation
- Manage patching processes for OS, applications, hypervisors, and network devices
- Collaborate in Windows Server upgrades and migrations, including schema changes and decommissioning legacy systems
- Administer Active Directory and Azure AD: user/service accounts, group policy, permissions, OUs, domain controllers
- Maintain and manage backup strategies for VMs and physical servers using tools like Veeam or Windows Server Backup
- Maintain routers, switches, VPNs, LAN/WAN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and secure remote access configurations
- Troubleshoot network issues in collaboration with network teams/vendors
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues; troubleshoot across servers, network, and security
- Maintain system network diagrams, firewall rules, VM inventories, configuration documentation and guides
- Automate routine tasks and deployments using PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
- Collaborate with new technologies to strengthen system security, performance, and scalability
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, VCP or similar IT certifications.
- Hands-on with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Experience managing virtual environments (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Strong knowledge of firewall configuration and network security best practices
- Familiarity with backup/disaster recovery strategies and tools
- Experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
- Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
- PowerShell automation or experience with configuration management tools
- Strong knowledge of firewall configuration and network security best practices
- Previous experience with network cabling, hardware installation, and infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting across desktop, laptop, and mobile platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Experience with VoIP phone systems, including configuration and user support.
- Hands-on experience running and terminating cabling and performing punch-downs on patch panels and wall plates.
- Ability to assist with system installations, configurations, software updates, and routine maintenance.
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Freshdesk) for issue tracking and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra, MFA, and identity management is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple requests efficiently.

- Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and as well as adapt to changing technology needs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
