About The Role

The Machine Operator, Level 1 position is responsible for operating finish refiners or Conches. He/She is responsible for helping ensure all products produced at this site meet all local and federal regulations and are safe and wholesome. In addition, meet all requirements mandated by FSSC 22000.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP, and HACCP requirements
  • Responsible for requesting and transferring raw materials from the storage silo to the daily bin.
  • Enter recipe data according to the production schedule.
  • Adjust pre-refiner/refiner and conche temperatures according to recipe and customer specifications
  • Add fat, flavors, and emulsifiers to conche or tanks according to recipes.
  • Pump product from conches to finished tanks according to production schedule.
  • Responsible for basic and preventative maintenance, reporting improvements needed to the Lead/Supervisor.
  • Verify viscosity of finished product and adjust as needed.
  • Verify fineness of flake/paste and adjust as needed.
  • Sample finished product.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all areas in the department, as well as following all GMP’s and Safety and food safety regulations.
  • Verify quality checks with magnet, sieve, date code verification, and case check weight verification
  • Run equipment: Milk System and Refiners or Milk System and Conches.
  • Clean machines, floors, and make sure the machine is organized
  • Train with Level 2 Operators on machine setup .

About you:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Math, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
  • Proficient in using a computer (MS Office).
  • One (1) year of manufacturing experience, a plus.
  • Fork Lift and/or Handcart certification, a plus.
  • Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs, often.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the facility.
