Partner, Litigation AI

Our client, an elite global law firm with a ten-figure litigation practice, is hiring an attorney at the partner level (with compensation commensurate with top AmLaw partners) to lead artificial intelligence across its litigation practice.

The firm has committed to one of the most significant AI investments in the legal industry, a proprietary, enterprise-scale platform shaped by its own lawyers, data, and workflows. The intent behind this role is to make the litigation practice the firm's proving ground for applied AI, turning that platform into a litigation-specific capability that lawyers use on live matters. This is a builder's seat for a litigator who can sit between the firm's AI engineers and its trial teams and translate practice judgment into working tools.

This individual will work alongside the firm's most prominent litigators, its executive committee, and its world-class innovation and technology teams.

𝘈𝘐 𝘜𝘴𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯

• Identify and prioritize the highest value AI use cases across the litigation practice, and establish the frameworks needed to translate them into everyday workflows.

• Roll out and embed the firm's AI tools directly into live matters, working alongside forward deployed AI engineers to move use cases from pilot into durable, integrated practice workflows.

• Drive adoption across litigation teams, measuring impact and refining tools based on how attorneys actually use them day to day.

• Stay at the frontier of AI and legal technology as it applies to litigation, maintaining an active, informed point of view on what is worth building and adopting.

𝘈𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨

• Implement training systems to bring litigation attorneys at all levels up to speed on AI resources in their daily practice.

• Drive genuine adoption across offices and disciplines, ensuring tools are used rather than merely available.

𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮, 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯

• Serve as the litigation practice's primary interface with the firm's broader AI and data initiative.

• Collaborate with the firm's innovation team and litigation practice technologists to ensure AI, technology, and knowledge management capabilities are integrated and mutually reinforcing.

• Establish governance, quality standards, and responsible-use frameworks for AI across the litigation practice.

𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘵

• Audit existing AI activity across the litigation platform and develop a roadmap to scale.

• Design the staffing model for the function as it grows.

• Align closely with practice group leaders and firm leadership on priorities and direction.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘'𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥

• J.D. required; current or former practicing litigator with 8+ years of peer firm experience.

• Broad familiarity across litigation disciplines: mass torts, antitrust, complex commercial, white collar, appellate, and/or IP.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying AI in a litigation or legal context.

• A credible partner to engineers without needing to be one: able to evaluate what AI tools do and do not do well, and to design workflows that harness their strengths.

• Able to think in systems and design infrastructure that scales.

• Strong writer and communicator, effective with both partners and firm leadership.

• Comfortable building and leading without a defined playbook.

Compensation is competitive with top legal and technology careers. Location flexibility across major U.S. offices; preference for New York, Chicago, or Washington, D.C. Three days per week in-office.
