We are seeking a mid-level Policy Analyst to support a team of lobbyists and government affairs professionals through policy research, legislative tracking, issue analysis, and client support. The ideal candidate will have experience in state government or public policy, including service in a Governor’s office, a state office in Washington, DC, or a state legislature / state house as a legislative assistant or similar role. Experience in energy policy or K-12 education is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Track and analyze state and federal legislative, regulatory, and political developments relevant to client priorities.
Prepare clear, client-ready materials, including policy memos, issue briefs, legislative summaries, and talking points.
Conduct research to support lobbying strategies, client meetings, and advocacy efforts.
Support lobbyists with meeting preparation, background materials, and strategic insights.
Identify policy risks, opportunities, and emerging trends affecting clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, government, or related field.
Approximately 2-4 years of relevant experience in state government, legislative affairs, public policy, or government relations.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
Familiarity with state policymaking and legislative process required.
Energy policy experience is preferred.
