A confidential, growing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead and strengthen its accounts payable function. This position will oversee high-volume AP operations across multiple business entities, manage internal and external resources, support month-end close, and implement scalable processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full accounts payable cycle across multiple entities.
Oversee invoice processing and AP workflows handled by internal, outsourced, and offshore resources.
Supervise, develop, and support AP team members and external service providers.
Lead AP-related month-end close activities, reconciliations, and reporting.
Review and reconcile corporate credit card activity, employee expenses, and operating expenditures.
Administer expense-reporting systems and employee reimbursement processes.
Manage vendor onboarding, account maintenance, and payment setup.
Resolve invoice exceptions, approval-routing issues, and vendor inquiries.
Prepare and review AP aging reports to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Process and approve ACH, wire, and check payments.
Coordinate recurring payments, including rent, insurance, freight, and other operating expenses.
Support banking transactions and tax-payment processing.
Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, controls, and reporting.
Assist with system implementations, automation projects, and process-improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain AP policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Partner with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams on special projects.
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Seven or more years of progressive accounts payable experience.
Previous AP management or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and accounts payable best practices.
Experience managing high-volume AP operations across multiple entities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience using ERP systems and expense-management platforms.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a multi-entity accounting environment.
Experience in consumer products, retail, e-commerce, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
Experience managing outsourced or offshore accounting resources.
Experience with AP automation, process improvement, or financial-system implementation.
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Orange County, California. The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite four days per week. Friday Remote
