Senior Mechanical Engineer

This is a 12-month 100% onsite contract role in Tualatin, OR. Regular shift M-F 8 to 5 PM

About the Role

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 to support the design and development of next-generation semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to bring complex products from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for advanced equipment
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Perform engineering analysis, including tolerance, thermal, and structural evaluation
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Controls, Software, Process, and Manufacturing teams
• Support prototype builds, system integration, testing, and validation activities
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving efforts
• Ensure designs are reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective

Required Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience (or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience)
• Proficiency with Siemens NX and/or CRE
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Hands-on experience using common mechanical measurement and diagnostic tools
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualification

• Semiconductor industry experience
• Experience supporting NPI project
• Knowledge of DFMEA and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
