Cape Fear Auto Care, the automotive service arm of Cape Fear Moto Group,is not just another repair shop. We are building a premium, all-makes-and-models automotive repair business inside a state-of-the-art dealership facility, and we are looking for the person who can help us launch it, staff it, manage it, and grow it.

Role Description The Service Manager position is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilmington, NC, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department. This position manages service advisors and technicians, coordinates work schedules, and ensures that all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to high quality standards. The Service Manager interacts directly with customers, provides repair estimates, explains service recommendations, and resolves concerns to support strong customer satisfaction and retention. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring workflow, approving work orders, managing parts and inventory coordination, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The role also involves enforcing safety and compliance procedures, implementing process improvements, training team members, and collaborating with other departments to support overall dealership performance.
Responsibilities
Help launch and build Cape Fear Auto Care from the ground up
Recruit, interview, and help hire qualified automotive technicians
Lead and manage the technician team
Oversee daily shop workflow, scheduling, repair orders, and productivity
Communicate with customers throughout the repair process
Prepare and explain service estimates and repair recommendations
Ensure repairs are completed properly, efficiently, and to a high standard
Maintain a clean, organized, professional, dealership-level facility
Work with ownership to grow the business and create a premium customer experience
What We Are Looking For
Automotive service, repair, or fixed operations experience
Prior experience as a shop manager, service advisor, foreman, technician leader, or similar role
Strong ability to recruit, lead, and motivate technicians
Excellent customer communication and follow-up skills
Understanding of repair estimates, labor times, parts, and shop workflow
Professional, organized, and process-driven
Comfortable working with all makes and models
Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to help build a new business
High standards for quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction
