Technical Account Manager – Additives (Coatings Industry)

A global manufacturer of specialty chemical intermediates and performance additives is seeking a Technical Sales Manager focused on the CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, & Elastomers) sector. In this remote, consultative role, you will manage existing accounts and drive new business development by matching specialty chemistries to complex client formulation needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development: Identify and close new commercial opportunities within the CASE market, managing projects from lab trials to full-scale production.
• Account Management: Serve as the primary commercial and technical liaison for key accounts, partnering closely with customer R&D, operations, and purchasing teams.
• Consultative Selling: Analyze formulator requirements (e.g., durability, flexibility, VOC compliance) and recommend tailored intermediates (polyols, alkoxylates, specialty additives).
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with internal R&D, technical service, and supply chain teams to support custom synthesis projects and market needs.
• Pipeline Tracking: Maintain active forecasting, client meeting notes, and trial data within the company CRM.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of technical sales or technical service in the specialty chemicals industry, specifically within the CASE sector.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of polymer chemistry, formulation mechanics, and performance testing for coatings, adhesives, sealants, or elastomers.
• Sales Ability: Proven track record in long-cycle, consultative B2B selling.
