The part that stands out isn’t the £15bn. It’s the word confidence. Industrial regions like the Humber don’t lose out because of lack of ideas. They lose out because investment cycles get broken halfway through. Carbon capture may or may not be perfect. But pulling support after a decade of alignment sends a very clear signal to global capital. Not “we’re rethinking strategy” But “this market isn’t stable” Serious question. If not this, Lord Jason Stockwood what replaces it at the same scale, with the same job density, and the same timeline?

What people should be asking is why £15bn is being wasted on this carbon capture guff. The whole NetZero religion is like all other religions....a complete scam. The ones who defend it are either brainwashed or making money from it.
