Tarquin Leadbetter’s Post

The innovation engine 🚂 is firing on all cylinders, new Tarquin’s Apple & Elderflower Gin limited edition. But what on earth is this innnovation engine? We test, trial and learn from our series of limited edition releases. First, we use category data to launch a customer vote for new gins. Our crack team of distillers create the recipes. Second we trial these creations in our 7 shops for live feedback. Third, we share with our 120k email database and online for even more feedback and data Finally, the winners we double down on and scale with our trade partners for wider distribution. As a result, we provide tried and tested bestsellers to our trade customers, allowing them to add incremental growth to their gin shelf. The holy grail in this market! This innovation is what makes us unique. As we’re integrated in every channel in the spirits ecosystem. From small batch makers, with brick-and-mortar, online and B2B sales. This is also the reason why our margarita inspired Tarquin’s Zest & Salt Gin is in like-for-like solid growth across all channels in its second year. Something you’d never expect! But this is the proof our innovation is working! Lastly, a bit more about today’s release… It is inspired by the seasonal beauty of Cornish orchards and hedgerows, this garden-fresh limited edition is a already a real crowd-pleaser! Our flagship Tarquin's Cornish Gin is first distilled in small batches before being lovingly infused with crisp Cornish apples and delicate elderflower blossom, creating a fresh and floral gin that remains unmistakably juniper-led. Pairs perfectly with: Tonic water & apple juice in a classic Collins. Or add some magic to the booming Hugo Spritz this summer 🍹 🛒 https://lnkd.in/e5McNRMT Yeghes Da!

What stands out is the ability to test ideas across multiple channels before committing to wider distribution. Many brands launch innovation and hope it succeeds. Having direct consumer, retail and trade feedback built into the process significantly reduces the risk. Not many spirits businesses have that advantage.

Keeping that juniper-led base while layering in apple and elderflower is a hard balance, but it’s exactly what keeps gin interesting without losing its identity

Tarquin Leadbetter Curious about the feedback loop here. using your own shops, email list, and superfans might bias the signal toward existing buyers... does that ever block riskier flavours that could win with new drinkers?

Being in every channel from small batch to b2b means your data is actually real, not just one slice of the market.
