ACE UK congratulates Dame Angela Eagle DBE MP on her appointment as Secretary of State at Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Dame Angela has a wealth of experience in environmental policy. In 1997 she was appointed by Tony Blair as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions. She served too as a DEFRA Minister from September of last year. From simpler recycling to extended producer responsibility and the deposit return scheme, Dame Angela joins the Cabinet at a very exciting time for waste and recycling policy across the UK. We look forward to working closely with Dame Angela over the coming months as part of Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s new Premiership.
