🇧🇷💨 Building Offshore Wind Together — From Vision to National Energy Strategy ⚡ On April 22nd, 2026, we had an excellent meeting with representatives from Brazil's Ministério de Minas e Energia (MME) in Brasília, DF, Brazil, to discuss the progress of the Aura Sul Wind project and the next regulatory and institutional steps needed to enable Brazil's first floating offshore wind pilot project. The meeting included Karina Araújo and José Nilton from the MME, together with Thomaz Xavier, Dr., Matheus Antonio Marques da Silva, and me, representing JB Energy - Japan Blue Energy Co., Ltd. Rather than discussing a single offshore wind project, our objective was to explore how #AuraSulWind can help build the technical, industrial, and regulatory foundations for an entirely new sector in Brazil, focusing on: 🤝 ⚡ The evolution of the ASW project, including environmental licensing progress, the establishment of JB Energy's Brazilian subsidiary at Oceantec - Parque Científico e Tecnológico da Furg, and the expansion of our technical and institutional partnerships. 🏗️ Industrial development, highlighting how FOW can leverage Brazil's world-class offshore oil & gas supply chain to revitalize the shipbuilding industry and create high-value jobs. 🌊 Environmental and metocean monitoring, with the deployment of a Floating LiDAR, environmental monitoring buoys, and public data sharing through the SiMCosta network. 🎓 A broad ecosystem of collaboration that brings together universities, research institutes, technology providers, government agencies, and industry partners from both #Brazil and #Japan. 📜 The regulatory pathway for offshore wind, recognizing the essential role that pilot projects play in supporting the development of Brazil's future regulatory framework. 🇧🇷🇯🇵 Brazil–Japan cooperation, including discussions on future MoC covering technology development, supply chains, human resource development, and knowledge exchange for floating offshore wind. 🔗 One of the most encouraging messages from the meeting was that pilot projects should not wait for a perfect regulatory framework. Instead, pilot projects are expected to help build that framework, generating the technical, environmental, and operational knowledge that will guide future commercial developments. 🔗 Innovation is built through collaboration. 🌎 Shared knowledge. ⚙️ Engineering excellence. 🤝 Long-term partnerships. I would like to sincerely thank the team at the MME for the productive discussions, strategic insights, and continued support for the responsible development of offshore wind in #Brazil. Together, we are transforming Brazil's offshore wind vision into a coordinated national strategy—connecting policy, innovation, industry, and international cooperation. 🇧🇷⚡🇯🇵 #ASW #OffshoreWind #FloatingOffshoreWind #FOWT #EnergyTransition #BlueEconomy #Innovation #Engineering #Shipbuilding #IndustrialDevelopment #EnergyPolicy #Collaboration #WindEnergy #NetZero #ThanksGod

This contact with the Ministry of Mines and Energy is essential for the progress not only of the Aura Sul Wind Project but also of the energy sector. Our goal, besides creating new technology, is to support decision-makers in coordinating regulations, energy studies, and the capacity to absorb the energy generated by this new sector. We will be together on this journey! #TheFutureIsOffshore
