Taking space — while making space. What a pleasure it was to work with Dr. Enric Bernal for the first time (and hopefully not the last). Last week was an important week. Enric and I co-facilitated an executive leadership program together for the very first time. We brought many years of experience to the room, yet we were also completely new as a facilitation team. That combination created something special. Enric and I have been with the Center for Creative Leadership for 13 and 10 years respectively. This is one of the things I value most about being part of CCL: the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and seasoned practitioners from around the world, continuously learning from one another while advancing the practice of leadership development together. Together with the executive team, we explored collective agility—beginning with mindfulness to slow down in order to power up, and continuing with the realities of today's polycrisis, how disruption is reshaping the context of leadership, leadership culture, and the superpower of sensemaking. One of my biggest takeaways was observing how Enric masterfully balanced the team's need for deep reflection while gently keeping us connected to the agenda. A particularly memorable moment was his explanation of dependent, independent and interdependent leadership cultures, beautifully linked to vertical leadership development. Insightful, elegant—and delivered with genuine kindness and wisdom. It reminded me that some of the best partnerships are built not because we are the same, but because we create space for each other to contribute at our best. Wishing you a wonderful week. Perhaps it's the week you meet a new colleague, discover a new perspective, or create space for someone else's strengths to shine. Dear Carla Leilani Packness. It was such a pleasure to co-facilitate this program with you in the beautiful site of Annecy, FR. More to come, for sure. 👏
Thank you both for everything you've brought to CCL over the years, and to every leader you've helped along the way.
You are AMAZING 🫶
