The clothes we wear have a direct impact on our body’s health and the environment we pass on to the next generation. I’m excited to share that a company I advise and believe in, LitKnit, is beginning their textile development phase bringing a more sustainable, cleaner, and safer stretch material to the world. Leitz Carbide Recycling Program Leitz Tooling Systems Pty Ltd Australia New Zealand is an inspiring organisation combining environmental impact with social impact. We are incredibly grateful to Leitz for their support through the Carbide Recycling Program. Leitz is collecting old carbide tools to avoid them falling into landfill, and allowing them to be re-used. The carbide tools collected will be recycled with their local carbide partner. Leitz will then donate 100% of the proceeds received from the recycled materials and donate it to us! This helps us provide essential items and bring comfort for children during difficult moments in their lives. Every donation, big or small, helps us bring hope to a child in need.

At this April's Recyclepalooza campus event, our Green Team hosted a three-day Earth Month drop-off campaign encouraging everyone who works on the McCormick Place campus to bring in items for recycling and donation, including hard-to-recycle items like e-waste. Last year's donation efforts resulted in over a ton of e-waste recycled, but our 2026 efforts scaled that up to eleven: ♻️ 23,560 lbs. (11.78T) of e-waste was recycled as a result of Recyclepalooza 2026! Along with garages, basements, and closets cleaned out, this means that almost 12 tons of materials have been prevented from ending up in landfills. But the charities we work with usually care about something much bigger once the relationship actually starts: • Will collections happen when promised? • Can someone actually be reached when there’s a problem? • Is there transparency around weights and reporting? • Are shops being supported operationally? • Is the downstream process ethical and accountable? At The Recycling Company, we’ve built the business around reliability, responsiveness and long-term relationships, not just headline pricing. We know we won’t be the right fit for everyone. We're incredibly grateful to partner with Lynn University on this impactful sustainability initiative. Together, Lynn University and Goodwill Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast collected more than 12,000 pounds of donated goods, helping keep usable items out of the waste stream and giving them a second life through Goodwill. This partnership is a powerful example of how sustainability, reuse, and social impact can come together to strengthen our communities. Every donated item helps support Goodwill's mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work by funding job training, education, and employment services for individuals facing barriers to work. A special thank you to the Lynn University team for their leadership, collaboration, and commitment throughout this pilot program. SUSTAINABILITY REPORT: MADE SIMPLE Meals per year 3,000,000!!! Yes 3 million 1: This figure based on 500g of product per meal (300-500g is the average). We went for the lowest as we don’t like to fabricate our figures. 2: It’s not too scientific, as some products can’t really qualify as food (pop/sweets etc). 3: At least 50% of the product we sell has passed its Best Before date, so anything we do distribute is really making a positive impact on the environment. 2: This product is not sold by major retailers. 3: Charities generally do not want it, as most don’t have enough skilled people or volunteers that understand the difference between Best before & Use by. 4: We give products away FREE to local groups/charities that do understand.
