ADA Advocacy Update - In another strong lobbying effort, Senators Booker and Budd reintroduce bipartisan Action for Dental Health legislation in the Senate. The House of Representatives passed companion legislation earlier this week. “Everyone deserves access to oral health care. Reauthorizing Action for Dental Health will maintain and expand proven programs that connect underserved communities with vital dental services they need to improve their health now and for years to come. Most of the senior Cabinet positions now allocated. Recalling that Kinnock's role spanned primary care, dentistry and social care, which somewhat diluted any focus on the latter. But insofar as it is helpful to nest social care reform within a broader agenda, how about a Minister for Neighbourhood Care, to show real intention?

For 40 years, I've been dedicated to educating and advocating for clarity in aesthetic treatments. Upon moving to Georgia and encountering a class where IPLs and diodes were referred to as lasers, I was compelled to question it immediately. The acronyms alone show they are fundamentally different technologies. Yet, in Georgia, IPLs can be considered lasers. This misrepresentation is deeply frustrating. It's infuriating because this confusion impacts patient care, particularly for dark and Black women who disproportionately suffer from conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and thyroid issues, often seeking treatments that require precise and accurate technology. Attached is the open letter I sent to #Connecticut Deputy Attorney General Eileen Meskill regarding Liberty Dental Plan's continued publication of inaccurate provider information. Although Liberty Dental terminated my participation in its network six years ago, following the Office of the Connecticut Attorney General's press release which was inconsistent with the settlement agreement, it continues to list me in its "Find a Dentist" directory, creating confusion for patients seeking in-network care. My letter highlights how inaccurate provider directories and leased provider networks can mislead consumers, frustrate patients, and unfairly impact healthcare providers. It is my hope that these concerns receive the attention they deserve and lead to greater #accountability and #transparency for the benefit of patients and providers alike.

Shareholder Andrew Taleghany successfully defended a general dentist in a Texas Dental Board investigation and Informal Settlement Conference concerning alleged standard of care violations. These involved inappropriate clinical judgment, including failure to properly and adequately diagnose the patient, failure to inform and discuss periodontal disease and present treatment options, as well as record keeping and billing issues, and dishonorable conduct. Through submission of a detailed rebuttal packet with supportive dental literature, and presentation at an Informal Settlement Conference, after deliberation the Board dismissed all allegations against the client. https://lnkd.in/gNUXNSfe #BrownSims #AdminWin #ClientSuccess #ProfessionalAchievement
