"Chai Tapri" (tea stall) almost dwindled the hierarchy and witnessed the round table on topics from global warming to earnings of unorganized sectors to whatever. A few days back, I was having tea with my colleagues and one of the interns. While ordering tea, the intern said no and explained that he had stopped drinking tea to better control his sugar. I was stunned after listening to the reason for not having a tea. 😶 I never thought about sugar control in my early 20s and thought sugar control was to be discussed once you are a senior citizen. 👵 👴 I respect his choice and his control ideas. Hope this new sugar control thing (afraid to write the word fad) among office goers may create a good number of teetotalers in the future after stepping ahead of "teatotaler" stage. Six years ago, in 2020, I founded Fondation Ambila Lemaitso to support education and create more opportunities for young people in Ambila Lemaitso Madagascar. Since then, this belief has become a real and growing project: 🎓Eight young people received full university sponsorship, including tuition and accommodation, with two hired directly after their internships. 🏫 In September 2025, we inaugurated the Ambila Lemaitso School. 👩🎓 Today, the school welcomes more than 50 students. 🌱 We have dedicated 10 hectares to sustainable agriculture, reforestation and hands-on learning. These results mean a great deal to me. But behind every number is a personal story: a student who graduates, finds a job, gains confidence and can support their family and contribute to their community. That is the real purpose of Fondation Ambila Lemaitso. We do not want education to stop at the classroom door. We want our students to learn how to think, work, create opportunities and take responsibility for their community and environment. Our approach brings together quality education, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, civic responsibility, employability and entrepreneurship. Our goal is simple: to provide an education that creates real and lasting value for each student, their family, their village and Madagascar. One thing this campaign has made me pay more attention to is how many opportunities in agriculture depend on visibility and access. A producer may have quality products ready for the market. A buyer may be searching for reliable suppliers. A carrier may have the logistics capacity available. But when those connections are difficult to make, growth becomes slower than it should be. Working on the Cereal+ Africa awareness campaign during my internship Afriment has been helping me understand how digital platforms can support agricultural business relationships across different parts of Africa. Cereal+ Africa by Onberg Technology is focused on connecting producers, buyers, carriers, and agribusinesses through one ecosystem designed to make collaboration and trade more accessible. Interesting seeing the coordination, communication, and strategy that go into campaigns like this behind the scenes. DAY 24: ADVICE TO BEGINNERS If I could give one piece of advice to someone starting their professional journey, it would be this: Don't wait until you feel completely ready. Many of us begin with limited experience, unanswered questions, and a lot of uncertainty. I know I did. Since joining Afriment, and I was grouped as a Social Media Specialist Intern, I've learned that growth happens through participation. You learn by showing up, taking on responsibilities, asking questions, receiving feedback, and improving along the way. A few lessons that have helped me so far: • Start before you feel ready. • Ask questions when you don't understand. • Stay consistent even when progress feels slow. • Learn from feedback instead of fearing it. • Value teamwork and communication. • Focus on improvement, not perfection. One thing I appreciate about Afriment is the opportunity to learn through practical experience while working alongside supportive mentors, team leads, and fellow interns. 🎙️ Voices from the Field At EWG hosted by CATERFLY, we bridge the gap between classroom learning and the entrepreneurial world by providing students with hands-on internship opportunities alongside inspiring entrepreneurs. This week, we feature Samrajit Saha from Maulana Azad College, who interned with entrepreneur Ruby Ray. During his internship, Samrajit gained practical exposure to entrepreneurship while also learning about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He developed a platform for other students in his college to learn how businesses can create meaningful social impact through a deeper understanding of the SDGs.
