The hidden cost of an unoptimized Anaplan model. Most teams notice the obvious signs. Longer calculation times. Slower planning cycles. More support requests. What often goes unnoticed is everything that follows. Simple enhancements become complex. Model changes take longer. Knowledge becomes concentrated in a few individuals. Teams become hesitant to make changes because they’re unsure of the impact. Over time, the model stops evolving as quickly as the business. That’s the real cost. Not just performance. Momentum. Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh technical review to identify opportunities to simplify the model, improve performance, and make future enhancements easier. When was the last time your Anaplan model was independently reviewed? Talk Anaplan with Nexplan. #Anaplan #ConnectedPlanning #ModelOptimization #SolutionArchitecture #Nexplan

Anaplan released Workflow batch approvals in June - one digest email at midnight instead of a dozen approval emails through the day, and a side-by-side pane to approve multiple items at once. This exact problem used to kill user adoption instantly. You design a workflow with a decision task per line item, it looks clean in testing with five records, then goes live with two hundred and the approver gets buried in notifications. They stop opening them. The workflow becomes a bottleneck nobody ends up using. The fix used to be custom - batching notifications through a scheduled process, or just accepting the approver fatigue as a tradeoff. Now it's a configuration option. Worth remembering at the design stage, not after go-live: ask how many items will actually run through a decision task in production, not in your test model. That number changes the entire approval design. Full article here: https://lnkd.in/gdWnDx_z Image taken from the demo video on the article. #Anaplan #Workflow #EPM

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of speaking at Anaplan Connect 2026, joining a panel on scaling Anaplan solutions beyond Finance. The discussion focused on what really happens when connected planning moves into Operations, Demand and Supply Planning, and wider transformation programmes. I shared some of the lessons learned from scaling users, functions and processes — and the organisational implications that follow. Support models must mature, governance must evolve, and solutions need continuous iteration to stay relevant, resilient and genuinely embedded. It was energising to hear how many organisations are wrestling with similar challenges and opportunities. The appetite for cross‑functional planning is clearly accelerating, and it was great to contribute to that conversation. Thank you to the Anaplan team for the invitation, and to my colleagues at FOS whose ideas, challenges and persistence have shaped so many of the solutions we’ve built. #AnaplanConnect #ConnectedPlanning #Transformation #DataLeadership

Your Anaplan implementation went live. So why is everyone back in Excel? It happens more often than you think. The implementation was successful. The project closed. Everyone celebrated go-live. A few months later… Planning cycles start taking longer. Users create Excel workarounds. Performance slows down. Simple enhancements become complex. The business loses confidence. The platform hasn’t failed. The solution has simply outgrown the way it was designed, governed, or adopted. The good news? Most of these issues can be identified—and fixed without starting again. Sometimes all you need is an independent Anaplan Health Check. A fresh perspective can uncover performance issues, simplify your model, improve governance, strengthen adoption, and help you get more value from the investment you’ve already made. If your Anaplan solution doesn’t feel as effective as it once did, let’s have a conversation. Talk Anaplan with Nexplan.

We implement BOTH Anaplan and Pigment. So here’s a clear comparison to help you choose what fits your business: Choose ANAPLAN if: → You need 200+ user licenses + complex multi-dimensional sparse data → You have capacity for a 6-9 month rollout → You want a 14-year track record of enterprise deployments at scale → Your goal is Connected Planning across Finance + Supply + Sales Choose PIGMENT if: → Speed-to-value is priority: 90-120 day rollouts are achievable → Your end users want a modern, intuitive experience → You’re a $50M-$500M company looking for focused capability → Excel formula familiarity is important for your modelers Where they ALIGN: Both eliminate spreadsheets. Both thrive with strong master data and governance discipline. THE HONEST ANSWER to “which one should we buy?” It depends on whether you have the people and process to run it. The tool is one part. The team and adoption plan are the rest. CFOs: Pick a side. What’s been your experience with Anaplan vs Pigment? 👇 #Anaplan #Pigment #FPnA #CFO #EPM #FinancialPlanning #ConnectedPlanning #CornorstoneConsulting

Why does your planning cycle still take three weeks? Most organizations assume it’s because planning is complex. In our experience, that’s rarely the whole story. Planning cycles become longer when teams spend more time collecting, validating, reconciling, and questioning data than making decisions. The platform is often expected to solve the problem. But planning speed depends on much more than technology. It depends on how well the model has been designed, how efficiently it performs, and how easy it is for users to work with. Sometimes, a few targeted improvements can reduce planning effort far more than another enhancement or new feature. The question isn’t “How fast is your model?” It’s “How fast can your business plan with confidence?” If your planning cycle is taking longer than it should, it may be time for a fresh perspective.
