Wireless AI Traffic Is About to Break the Old Capacity Model. AI is creating a new scaling problem for wireless networks: more AI workloads, more traffic, more demand for capacity. But adding more power and more spectrum is no longer a sustainable way to scale. The next phase of network growth will depend on how efficiently we use spectrum and coordinate with each other across the network. Distributed MIMO is emerging as one of the most promising approaches, allowing multiple radios to coherently behave like a unified system. Northeastern University demonstrated this capability over the air using Eridan radios, made possible by their picosecond-level timing precision. For architectures built around signal clarity and efficient spectrum use, this shift creates a powerful opportunity to rethink how networks scale.
