5 days into May. 99 orders. $10,325.82 in revenue. A 6.1% conversion rate.
That's a 77.3% jump in conversion rate year over year. 71% more orders. 54% more revenue.
When the revamp of this customized wall decor Etsy shop first started, the shop was down $17k year-over-year. It wasn't performing anywhere near what it was actually capable of.
Here's what we did to supercharge things.
Visuals first. The hero images across her top listings were the first thing I looked at, because that's what stops the scroll. We rebuilt them from scratch, not just a resize or a background swap, but a full rethink of composition, resolution, and emotional pull. A buyer on Etsy makes a snap decision in about two seconds. The images have to do a lot of work in that window. We rebuilt the heroes for higher resolution, cleaner staging, and more intentional framing. Gemini, Canva Pro, and Adobe Creative Cloud helped a lot there.
Then SEO. Full title and tag overhaul across the shop. Not just swapping in high-volume keywords, but actually mapping out which searches she was showing up for, which ones she should have been showing up for, and where she was invisible for no good reason. A shop like this has a wide surface area of buyer intent to capture. The keyword architecture wasn't doing that.
New listings to cover gaps. There were keyword angles she wasn't targeting at all because the products existed but weren't structured to reach them. We created new listings specifically built around those gaps.
Product grouping. Some of her listings were competing with each other. Related products split across too many thin listings tend to divide ranking strength rather than build it. We consolidated strategically, combining variations and building toward fewer, stronger listings rather than more diluted ones.
Pricing and promotion. We ran a controlled sale structure that gave the algorithm something to work with and created urgency for buyers who were on the fence. On top of that, we tested entry-level price points on a select group of top sellers to see where the conversion rate and AOV response was strongest. Thoughtful, not aggressive.
Product line expansion. In one of her strongest categories, we expanded the product range to cover more customer segments. More options means more buyers who can see themselves in the product, and it opens up more keyword territory at the same time.
The result of all of that is a shop where the traffic that was already coming in started converting at nearly double the rate it was before. The shop has already seen $154,277.12 in revenue this year, and it's only up from here!
I always love to come on here and break down strategy. My team and I are all about bringing innovation into how an Etsy shop is typically approached.
2026 is the year for scaling; Etsy algorithm shifts and all. If you're an Etsy shop owner looking to turn things around, feel free to get in touch. We're working with very limited availability throughout the rest of Q2.
We would like to bring attention to the fact that recently Etsy ads performance seems to have dropped significantly, especially for shops that have been loyal sellers on the platform for a long time. We at ChicsAndCheersStudio have noticed this very clearly, and we’re also part of a broader community of Etsy sellers who are experiencing the same issue. We work very hard to provide great products, customer service, and to grow together with Etsy, so we kindly ask Etsy to also support long-term sellers and look into these advertising performance concerns. Thank you!
