Are you a journalist interested in reporting on EU civil protection? 🔥 Wildfires are becoming more frequent and more destructive. In 2025 alone, a record 1 million hectares burned across the EU - an area roughly half the size of Slovenia. This summer, the EU is deploying a record number of firefighters, aircraft and emergency experts to help protect lives, homes and nature. 777 firefighters from 14 countries, pre-positioned across six high-risk countries in southern Europe.
