Financial education can't change outcomes if it only reaches a fraction of the students who need it. Canvas Credit Union recognized that challenge and expanded its reach across Colorado, connecting with more than 5,000 students and 300 classrooms while helping make financial education more accessible for diverse learners. When more students have access to high-quality financial education, communities are stronger for it. 🤝

School may be out, but the financial lessons don't have to stop. ☀️ Summer is actually one of the best times to introduce your kids to the basics of saving and budgeting. When they're not juggling homework and extracurriculars, they have more time to focus on real-life skills, like what it means to save toward a goal, manage their own money, and make smart spending decisions. A Focus FCU Youth Account is a simple, hands-on way to get them started. And the habits they build now? Those will stick around long after summer is over. 👉 Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gcf7xyGR.

Amazing! Reaching Lower-Moderate-Income students with life changing financial literacy courses. Follow Wiss' and New Jersey Devils National Hockey League (NHL) community examples! Find out how to help in your town. #Wiss #FinancialLiteracy
Every student deserves the knowledge and confidence to make smart financial decisions. Through our partnership with the New Jersey Devils and Everfi, we delivered financial literacy education to 1,547 students across 18 New Jersey schools this year. The results speak for themselves. Students improved their financial knowledge by an average of 38 percentage points, increasing from 56% before the program to 94% after. Because financial confidence isn't a privilege. It's a foundation for future success.

Partnerships are powerful when they open doors. Golden 1 Credit Union’s work with CalKIDS is helping ensure more families are aware of early savings opportunities already set aside for California students, which can turn potential into possibility. When financial education meets real support, futures get brighter.

The 2026-27 school year starts in less than 6 weeks. Is financial literacy on your fall agenda? Here's the thing: New initiatives launched mid-year rarely stick. Teachers are overwhelmed. Students are off-rhythm. Momentum fades. But initiatives that launch in August — with trained teachers and a clear plan — actually take root. According to Forbes, states with financial literacy requirements are seeing measurable improvements in student financial behavior within 2-3 years of implementation. The schools seeing results aren't the ones who waited. They're the ones who planned over summer. If you're thinking about adding financial literacy this fall — or wondering what implementation actually looks like — I'd love to hear where you're at. The strongest financial strategies reflect how schools actually operate day to day. Context is what makes the difference between theory and something that works.
Deep knowledge of the independent school landscape matters. Financial strategy in schools isn’t theoretical , it’s contextual. Governance structures, enrollment dynamics, community expectations, mission alignment , it all plays a role. We’re proud to bring financial vitality work that is grounded in how independent schools actually operate.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear from parents is: "We probably won't qualify for financial aid." The truth is, financial aid is much more than grants for low-income families. It can include scholarships, work-study programs, federal loans, and college-specific aid. The challenge is understanding how the system works before your student starts applying. The rules can feel overwhelming: • FAFSA or CSS Profile? • Need-based vs. merit aid? • How is financial need actually calculated? • How do you compare award letters from different colleges? That's exactly why we created our ABCs of Financial Aid guide. Whether your child is just starting high school or preparing to submit college applications, understanding the basics now can help your family make more informed decisions later. Comment “GUIDE” down below if you would like to learn more and I will send the guide over to you. As always, if you have questions about college planning or how education fits into your overall financial plan, I'm happy to help.

One of the highlights of this year's Council for Economic Education Summer Institute was the opportunity to sit down with former FDIC Chair and bestselling author Sheila Bair for a fireside chat on financial education. Our conversation explored an important question: How do we help young people build strong financial habits before they face high-stakes financial decisions? A sincere thank you to Sheila Bair for sharing her time, expertise, and passion for financial education—and to the incredible educators who joined us and continue to make financial literacy come alive in classrooms every day.
