R-evolution of turning shelves powered by FIFO concept⁉️ Supermarkets meet 🤝 lean thinking. ✅ Reducing waste up to 40% = first in–first out reduces waste caused by expired products and makes you more sustainable ✅ Up to 70% reduced refilling time = saving labour cost ✅ increasing sales = gravity feed shelves ensure a full product front Allocable for cabinet coolers, multideck display cases, and cold rooms. Supermarkets & productions aim to keep all parts in stock, while at the same time avoiding overproduction. Product: EasyFill Group #lean Eduardo BANZATO Andrej Morocz
Great idea for process efficiency. However, how much more expensive would this shelving systems be as compared to standard shelving? This may become a CapEx budget issue.
I worked at a bar while I was in college. There were two things I hated about that job: 1. Cleaning up the club after an all-night party and pouring out the leftover drinks that hadn’t been finished, which, after sitting on the counter all night, didn’t smell very good 2. Restocking the refrigerators with drinks, but to do it right, you first had to take out the chilled ones so you wouldn’t serve people warm drinks... This solution would at least solve one of the problems ;D
FIFO is often discussed as an inventory rule, but here it becomes a physical design principle. When products move forward automatically, less waste, faster refilling and better availability come from the same simple mechanism.
FIFO is often seen as an inventory practice, but its biggest impact is on execution efficiency. Simple process improvements like this usually deliver better returns than complex technology alone.
Great example of Lean thinking. One small point: for food products, I'd say it's more about FEFO (First Expired, First Out) than FIFO. The expiration date is what really matters. 👍
I have a question. In China, both sides of the shelves are filled with different goods. Why is it necessary to design them like this shelf
Excellent demonstration of Lean thinking well-designed material flow simplifies operations, reduces waste, and improves overall process reliability.
Una verdadera revolución de las góndolas, mejor eficiencia en la reposición , se reflejara en las ventas y en los costos de operación.
Should consider ergonomics term also.
Great example of Lean becoming practical: FIFO improves freshness, reduces replenishment effort, and makes abnormalities visible. Simple flow design can create measurable operational and customer value.
