🤔 I have two key questions about this machine: 1️⃣ Once the wrapping cycle is completed and the paper is cut, how is the loose end secured to prevent the wrap from coming undone? Does the machine use an automatic adhesive, folding, or any other fastening system? 2️⃣ How many meters of paper does each roll contain? Since paper is significantly thicker than stretch film, I assume the total length per roll is much shorter. How often does the roll need to be replaced under normal operating conditions, and approximately how many pallets or wrapping cycles can be completed with a single roll?
Promising alternative, Florian. The real test will be whether it can match plastic on moisture resistance, load stability, and total cost at scale.
Recyclable alternatives are more important now than ever. I'm curious about how stretchy this solution is though, given that it's paper?
One thing nobody has raised yet: the label. Clear film lets you scan a pallet without touching it, and lets you see the load before it moves. Wrap it in paper and every barcode has to end up on the outside, or your automated systems are reading nothing. Not a dealbreaker, but it's a workflow change, and it gets designed in with the switch, not discovered after the first shipment goes out.
Replacing plastic only makes sense if the wrapping keeps the pallet stable even when exposed to moisture, abrasion and transport. If paper reliably meets these requirements in automated production lines, recyclability becomes a real operational advantage and is no longer just a material promise.
What a great concept. This wrap will be great under controlled conditions and mainly interior uses. I wonder if there is any punctures resistance, maybe mixing some fibers with the paper formulation??

That's a great idea. However, one of the main duties of plastic streatch is protecting pallets against moisture. Not only in rainy whether but also in cold warehouses as well. How this protector resists against moisture?
