💡 How will money move in the insurance industry of the future? At ITC Asia 2026, Jonas Thürig, Business Development Director, AI & Data, GFT Technologies APAC & GCC, moderated the panel "Insurance Still Runs on 20th-Century Money Rails. What Comes Next?" as part of the Insurance 2077: The Future Is Loading session. Together with leaders from Visa, RD Technologies, Cryp-Sure, and OTLRS, the discussion explored how next-generation payment infrastructure, embedded finance, and digital money could reshape insurance operations, from claims and commissions to treasury, settlement, and reinsurance. A few key takeaways stood out: 🔹 The future is unlikely to be a choice between fiat and stablecoins, but rather the orchestration of multiple trusted payment rails. 🔹 Stablecoins and tokenized money may gain traction first in institutional use cases such as treasury, cross-border settlement, reserves, and collateral management. 🔹 As money movement becomes increasingly programmable, governance, compliance, resilience, and auditability will be just as important as speed and efficiency. 🔹 Success will depend not only on technology adoption but also on strategic partnerships across payment networks, infrastructure providers, and financial ecosystems. The discussion reinforced what we see across financial services today: the future of money movement will not simply be faster, it will be more intelligent, embedded, programmable, and seamlessly integrated into business processes. Thank you to panelists - Swapnil Mhasde, Ian Lee, John Morley, Vel Vasic - and everyone who joined the discussion. 👉 Learn more about how GFT Technologies helps insurers innovate with AI, data, and modern platforms: https://lnkd.in/gKqY27s3 #ITCAsia #Insurance #Payments #DigitalPayments #EmbeddedFinance #Stablecoins #Tokenization #ArtificialIntelligence #InsuranceInnovation #GFTAPAC
