One company, in one Shenzhen district, holds roughly three-quarters of the world's consumer drone market. DJI makes its own flight controllers, gimbals, transmission, propulsion and sensors. It's the most complete vertical integration I've seen in any consumer product. Head-on, it's very hard to beat. So the interesting question isn't "who competes with DJI." It's where DJI is not dominant. The answer: FPV (a parts culture, not sealed units), agriculture (where China leads the world, led by Guangzhou's XAG), and enterprise survey. The unusual part: the apex and the challengers all share one city. Four houses across the gaps: → https://lnkd.in/ddzEDKUb #drones #hardware #shenzhen

The ready-to-use solution just got better ✈️ A drone inspection that stops halfway is worse than not flying at all, so the latest Outflier flight app update for the DJI remote controller is all about making sure every mission finishes, safely. What's new: 🔋 Smarter battery safety: the drone now auto-returns home at 20%, so a flight never ends unexpectedly mid-mission on a low charge. 🛡️ Protected missions: if the app slips to the background during a flight, the inspection pauses and a clear banner reminds the pilot to keep it open. It also auto-pauses if the drone begins its own return-to-home or landing, so nothing gets cut short. 🧹 Cleaner data, automatically: uploads are de-duplicated, so what reaches our Outboard platform stays accurate. 🎥 Smoother captures: fixed gimbal pitch when resuming a mission, plus sharper HD storage estimates so you always know what a flight needs. Fewer aborted flights. Cleaner data. Reports you can trust. #SolarEnergy #Drones #SolarOM #PVInspection #Outflier

Can drone AI detect anything? It is a question we are going to hear more and more... The honest answer is: Almost anything that can be clearly seen, defined and tested but not literally anything in every condition. AI can help drones detect people, vehicles, perimeter breaches, asset defects, thermal hotspots, missing equipment, vegetation encroachment, open gates, crowds and site-specific events. The value is not just finding things. The value is reducing manual review and helping teams focus on the events that matter. FlytBase is particularly interesting here because its Verkos AI Agents support pre-built detection events, custom detection events and live search during active flights. FlightHub 2 is also developing quickly, with DJI adding AI Copilot and VLM-based recognition inside the DJI ecosystem. The key is not asking whether AI can detect “anything”. The better question is: What do you need it to detect, how clearly can the drone see it, and what action should happen next? We have written a new blog looking at what drone AI can do, where FlytBase and FlightHub 2 fit, and the limitations operators need to understand. Knowing where your own drone is solves only half the problem. The other half is knowing what else is sharing the airspace with it when you are outdoors. ADIS just grew from flying a single drone to seeing the whole sky around it. A bit of context: ADIS is an Autonomous Drone System built for GPS denied flight. The new airspace layer answers a bigger question, who else is up there, friend or unknown, and exactly where. The milestone: ADIS now paints every aircraft into the same 3D grid you already plan missions in, and it does so along two clear lines. Your own friendly drones, the registered ones you operate: DJI Cloud API for enterprise aircraft like the Matrice and Mavic 3 Enterprise, streaming live telemetry over MQTT straight into the view. A companion Android app built on the DJI Mobile SDK that reads consumer DJI telemetry and forwards it on. Everything else in the sky: Vendor neutral Remote ID, decoded directly from the OpenDroneID broadcast that every current drone is required to send. This captures any compliant drone nearby, known or unknown, and even places the pilot position on the ground. For the technically curious: every source feeds one shared pipeline. Positions arrive already in WGS84, get classified as operated friendly drones via the DJI links or detected traffic via Remote ID, and render in the 3D grid as octahedron markers with a drop line to the floor, a callsign label, and live distance, bearing, altitude, and track duration. The very same stream is forwarded to WinTAK as Cursor on Target, so your tactical map and your planning view always agree. If you are building around airspace awareness, Remote ID, or counter drone work, we would love to compare notes. #Drones #RemoteID #DJI #SituationalAwareness #Airspace #CounterUAS #Robotics #TAK #Engineering

NANUK 935 or 975? The Nanuk 935 is our go-to for everyday productions, while the 975 is the case we reach for when we need to transport an entire drone package. For this recent boat production, we consolidated what would normally be multiple cases into a single Nanuk 975, making loading, transport, and setup much more efficient. #NanukCases #DroneOperations #GearManagement #FilmProduction #FirstClassDrones

Drone operations are changing... The biggest shift is not just better cameras or longer flight times. It is the workflow around the drone. DJI’s latest FlightHub 2 update introduces AI Copilot, allowing operators to use text or voice prompts to help control missions, interpret waypoint data, understand drone status and turn requests into executable steps. That is a significant step towards more intelligent enterprise drone operations. For security teams, construction companies, utilities, inspection teams and organisations looking at Dock 3, this could change how drone workflows are planned, managed and reviewed. The same update also brings: • AI recognition within flight routes • 500MP ultra-clear panoramas • Change Detection Pro • Surface area measurement • Improved third-party integrations • Safesky airspace integration • One-tap service requests We have put together a new blog looking at what this means in real terms for enterprise drone teams. This integration meant something special to us. It brought together people who once started out right here at Maxprogres. Our former director Martin Vojtek and his colleague Lukáš Chalupa came over with their developers to connect our DroneGuard platform - built by Petr Krist’s team - with what they’re now creating at Coda Spatial. And this is where it gets exciting. Coda Spatial brings world-class volumetric detection and a full digital twin of the environment. DroneGuard brings the layer that makes flying effortless - simple, intuitive drone control that turns any operator into a pilot with a single click. Put those two together, and you see the real power of Coda Spatial: their platform truly comes alive once it’s backed by our control layer. One clicks, the drone flies. No piloting, no complexity. Together again, and all in. And that’s exactly what we love to see: stars of the security world being born at Maxprogres. People who grew up here and are now pushing the whole industry forward. Thanks for the great work together - and we can’t wait to see what comes next. 🚁 #DroneGuard #Maxprogres #CodaSpatial #TacticaWare #Hexagon
We've Just Reached Another Milestone – And This One Takes Flight After perfecting our volumetric understanding of the physical world on the ground, we've now turned our eyes to the skies. At Coda Spatial, we're adding a whole new dimension to security – literally and figuratively. Introducing our latest evolution in airspace control: We've integrated Drone Tag for autonomous drone detection, deployed 3D Robin Radar for comprehensive coverage, and integrated D-Fend's anti-drone system with full mitigation capabilities. But here's what truly excites me: the DroneGuard platform integration changes everything. Here's how it works: Your security operator simply clicks on what they want to see in our digital twin. That's it. Coda Spatial takes over – constraining flights to approved airspace only, handling all collision avoidance automatically, and transforming each drone into an intelligent, autonomous flying PTZ camera. No piloting. No complexity. Just click and see. Watch the Click-and-Fly function in action This is just the beginning. In the coming posts, I'm revealing two autonomous patrol missions orchestrated entirely through Coda Spatial – drones running 24/7, performing real-time video detection, communicating with threats. Follow along. The future of autonomous security is here. #CodaSpatial #Octave #DroneGuard
