Harris Health’s Post

Did you know Harris Health had a hand in preparing astronauts for space? In 2001, NASA astronauts C. Michael Foale and Scott Kelly spent time at Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital to learn life-saving procedures for medical emergencies in space. The two astronauts spent time with Muhammad Atallah, MD, anesthesiologist, who demonstrated proper airway management and endotracheal intubation as part of their medical training for the journey into space. The following year, NASA astronauts Jeff Williams, Tracy Caldwell and John Olivas came to LBJ Hospital for the same training to use on their shuttle missions. #HarrisHealth #WeLiveThis #HarrisHealth60 #HarrisHealthHistory
